About us
Red Kite was formed in 2015 by Jules and Nico, who originally met studying for an MSc in Sustainable Architecture at The Centre for Alternative Technology. We both share a passion for the environmental issues and how this relates to architecture and construction.
Our aim is to promote sustainability, resilience and low impact living through providing design and construction services for environmentally friendly buildings.
We undertake design, construction and project management for your sustainable building projects on new and existing buildings. We are advocators of the design and build model, in which our clients enjoy having one point of contact throughout a more harmonised project. We are based in the south west of England, covering Somerset, Devon, Cornwall, South Wales and over the years have completed projects further afield.
We specialise in using natural and low carbon materials and methods, including straw bale, timber frame, earth and lime. We have also developed various construction details to reduce the amount of concrete in our projects. We are also trained Passive House designers and are able to advise on achieving the highest performance buildings that require very little energy to heat.
Over the years we have built up a diverse and passionate team of contractors who work with us, and we always try to build in elements of training and professional development into our projects to increase the skill sets available and to see our employees advance.
