About Us

At Red kite we share a passion for tackling the climate crisis, for working with high quality, natural and traditional materials, and for creating exciting and beautiful spaces.

Red Kite was formed in 2015 by Jules and Nico, who originally met studying for an MSc in Sustainable Architecture at The Centre for Alternative Technology, Wales.

We both share a passion for environmental issues and how this relates to architecture and construction.

Over the years we have built up a diverse and passionate team of contractors and specialists who work with us, and we are passionate about supporting our staff and building their skills.

Our Directors

Nico

A keen environmentalist and creative, I hold a BA in Contemporary Art Practice from the University of Leeds, an MSc in Architecture: Advanced Environmental and Energy studies from the Centre of Alternative Technology, and am an accredited Passivhaus Consultant.

I enjoy combining both scientific and creative approaches to transforming and creating buildings.

I have 15 years of hands on experience working on sustainable building projects working with timber, straw, earth and lime, and am also an experienced designer using CAD software and Sketchup.

I am at home managing our teams on site, working on design concepts and details, and maintaining our client relationships.

Jules

Raised in an environment rich in art, architecture, and a deep appreciation for the natural world, my passion led me to specialise in sustainable design and build.

I hold an MSc in Building Surveying and a Master’s in Architecture: Advanced Environmental and Energy Studies from the Centre for Alternative Technology. As a certified Passive House consultant with experience in CAD software, I am deeply invested in how design and materials shape both space and experience.

I have extensive knowledge working with natural materials and the qualities they bring. With 15 years of hands-on experience managing projects from concept to completion, I understand the complexities of bringing a vision to life and navigating the challenges along the way.
