Hemp lime refurbishment

We have recently completed doing part of the refurbishment of an old pub in Bristol using hemp lime as an internal breathable insulation material. 75mm of the hemp lime was tamped onto the stone walls all the way around the groun floor of the building, that has been suffering from not only heat loss but also dampness problems. With a willing team of helping hands and a barrel mixer progress was reasonably fast on the large wall sections and the mixture keyed well to the wall.

The walls will now be left to dry completly before being lime plastered to finish.
